Belfry is designed to respect your privacy. We do not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, or any content you create. This policy explains the limited data the app uses and why.
Anonymous usage & diagnostics. Belfry sends usage events to Google Analytics — which bell was rung, which screen was opened, whether something failed, and when a purchase completes. Each event carries a random identifier generated on your device the first time the app runs, so that a hundred taps from one phone are not mistaken for a hundred people. That number is not your name, your email, your Apple ID or your advertising identifier; it is not shared with anyone else, it is not used to build a profile of you, and it never leaves Belfry's own analytics property. Deleting the app deletes it.
We never ask for your location. Belfry contains no location code at all — no permission request, no GPS, no lookup of any kind. The city shown on the clock and the sun and moon behind the tower are worked out from the time zone your device is already set to, which every app can read without asking and which is not a location. You will never see Belfry ask for location, because it cannot use it.
Purchases. Belfry offers a single optional one-time purchase to unlock premium features. Payments are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store — Belfry never sees or stores your payment card, Apple ID, or billing details. Apple provides only a confirmation that the purchase is valid so the app can unlock.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location of any kind, health data, photos, or the contents of any messages or documents. Belfry has no account, no social features, no advertising identifier and no cross-app tracking of any sort, and it does not sell or share personal data with data brokers or anyone else.
Apple asks every developer to declare what an app collects. Belfry declares Identifiers (the random number above), Usage Data (which features are used) and Purchases (that an unlock happened), all marked not used to track you — because Belfry does not link anything to you across other companies' apps or websites, which is what Apple means by tracking. If you ever see Belfry's App Store listing claim it collects nothing at all, that listing is out of date and this page is the one to believe.
Your settings (chosen bell, schedule, quiet hours, and whether you've unlocked premium) are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to us.
Belfry is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
You can turn off location features in iOS Settings at any time. You can restore a previous purchase from the unlock screen. If you have any questions about your data, contact us below.
